Laventille Cultural Uprising is a NPO situated in Laventille, which main focus is on removing the ethical stains on the community.
What we do:
Laventille Cultural Uprising (L.C.U.) was founded on February 10, 2016 under the Companies Act. L.C.U. has implemented VOICES, a drama club which offers musical and theatrical training to anyone willing and above the age of six (6). The organization depends on support other than that within its capacity.
L.C.U. has partnered with Thunder fists Karate Association ( a Karate School) for the sole purpose of community revival under the name Thunder fists Karate and Cultural Promo. and has since commenced Karate lessons on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays while maintaining a tight Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays schedule for Voices project. Our mission is to house our initiative of 1. implementing an in-house library as part of our curriculum, with benefits of life skills training/ re-training at our library (30 minutes each session) apart from normal research. 2. Continue training in all areas within one cultured office. 3. Change the ethical outlook on Laventille as a People.
Our Motto: 'Together we will remove the stain.' is also our mantra.
Our Vision: Laventille as a performing enterprise, fully supported by the community foremost and the wider public thereafter.
